The hosts of popular morning news program “Fox & Friends” delivered some good news to viewers across the country on July 27, 2026, announcing that the host of “Fox & Friends First,” Carley Shimkus, gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Harrison, adding that the baby and Carley are recovering well. Shimkus has another son, Brock, with her husband, Peter Buchignani, who she has been married to since 2015.
“We have a brand-new member of the Fox & Friends family. Carley Shimkus [gave] birth to her son, Harrison,” Fox News host Ashley Strohmier stated during the episode. “And we are so happy to report both mom and baby are doing great. And baby Harrison joins his big brother, Brock.” Strohmier then noted how similar Harrison looks to his big brother, Brock.
“They’re so precious. And Carley looks so great. Oh, my gosh. Congratulations to them,” she added. Co-host Ainsley Earhardt stated that she paid Shimkus a visit in the hospital just a few days after she gave birth to Harrison. “She looked amazing. Without a stitch of makeup on, looked amazing. And she’s holding this baby. And there we are,” Earhardt gushed on air.
According to a report from TV Insider, Earhardt then remarked how similar the newborn looks to his father. “The baby does look like Pete, because Brock looks more like Carley,” she went on to say during the birth announcement.
Steve Doocy, another co-host of the morning show, shared his shock about how much the older boy has grown. “I can’t believe how big Brock is,” he said, wisecracking, “Man, these kids, you feed them, they grow up!” Brock was born in 2023.
A number of viewers took to social media to share their own messages of support and congratulations on the birth of Shimkus’ child. “Congrats. So love this for you and your little family,” a person commented on Instagram.
Another said, “How precious! Congratulations to mom, baby, and family!” Another individual went on to share, “Congratulations @carleyshimkus on the new addition to your precious family!!! He’s absolutely handsome!!!” Someone else posted, “Congratulations!! What a beautiful boy!!! That went by fast!!! What a beauty. Just like his mom, dad, and ‘bro.” A separate commenter stated, “Congratulations Carley and family! Such blessings!”
Shimkus first announced she was pregnant on “Fox & Friends” in March 2026. “My husband and I, and Brock, my son, who’s now 3, are so excited,” she said, revealing that their second child was a boy. Ahead of the baby’s birth, Shimkus took a look back at her journey of motherhood by sharing several photographs of her three-year-old Brock on her Instagram account.
“As we are getting ready to welcome a new baby, I am reflecting on so many happy memories as a family of three with my very funny, high energy boy,” she wrote in the caption of the July 16 post. “I can’t wait to meet the little one who will grow our hearts even more!” There were no details revealed during the program as to when Carley will return to the show.
